Boat tours to see the "Swimming Pigs"

Many of our guests do the "Out Island Adventure Tour" managed by local operators. The tours start at 8:00 am and run all day up into the uninhabited Exuma cays. The trip includes seeing the "swimming pigs", iguanas, a disappearing sand bar near Copperfield Cay, swimming with the sharks at Compass Cay, snorkeling the 007 Thunderball grotto; and a final stop for lunch and refreshments at the Staniel Cay yacht club. The cost is about $175 per person for the day, including refreshments

The Villa rental includes several sit on top kayaks for one or two that can be launched from the beach for local excursions or snorkeling trips.

A Hobie Cat 16' catamaran sailing boat is included in the Villa rental. The boat can be launched from the beach and sailed to one of several uninhabited islands nearby.

Boat Rentals

Boston Whalers and twin engine Power Cat boats are available for rent from Minns Water Sports in George Town; for about $300 per day, and can be rented by the day or by the week. No experience is required to navigate to one of many uninhabited islands, or to visit Chat N Chill, Peace and Plenty beach, or St Francis Resort.

Stand Up Paddle boarding (SUP)

We include the use of several stand up paddleboards (SUP), new in 2013, for use on the beach in front of the house.

Shallow waters around the Exuma Cays offers spectacular conditions for experienced kiteboarders. Exuma kitesurfing offers lessons for beginners and rental equipment for experienced riders.

Whether you like deep-sea fishing, reef fishing, bottom fishing, fly-fishing, or spear fishing; look no further than the Exumas. The Exuma flats are world-renowned for challenging bone fishing, and the 6,000-foot depths of the Exuma Sound typically bring in record numbers of Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo, Mahi-mahi, Swordfish, Grouper, and other spectacular species; as well as Spiny Lobster and Conch. There is a wide selection of charter boats, experienced charter boat captains, and bone fishing guides to choose from.

Sea beans from the Amazon, Japanese and Portuguese glass balls from the fishing fleets, large conch shells, sand dollars, sea biscuits, starfish, and rare sea glass are among some of the treasures that our guests have stumbled across in their beachcombing adventures on the beaches in front of the house. Hundreds of deserted beaches exist throughout the Exuma Cays, and they are all accessible by car or by small boat. Because the islands are virtually uninhabited, there is no telling what might have washed up within the last 24 hours.

Snorkeling in the Exuma Islands (or Cays) is unlike anywhere else in the world. Crystal clear waters, protected bays, beaches, and hundreds of reefs provide for spectacular sightseeing in an underwater world that is full of tropical marine life. Even first time snorkelers and boaters are amazed at how easily they become comfortable with the snorkeling experience.
